At HCI we trained students for British O/L and A/L in English medium. Therefore designed to provide your child a well rounded education which places equal importance on academic as well as extra curricular activities.
HCI consists of three schools:
- The Elementary School
- The Primary School
- The Secondary School
The curriculum of the elementary school is a well balanced one comprising of the best practices derived from Montessori and Pre-school methods.
Elementary
The Emphasis is on activity based learning where creativity of the child is encouraged. Teaching is through games, art and presentations using Montessori materials. Each age group is provided with the appropriate internationally designed educational toys and material to enhance their skills in keeping with their progressive development.
Primary (Year 2 - 5)
The Curricular of these Grades consist of English, Mathematics, Science, Sinhala/Tamil, Computer Studies (From age 4 onwards) , Environmental studies, Religion, Art, Music, Dancing, Speech, Drama, Physical Education, French and German.
Secondary School
All classes follow a clearly defined programme of studies based on a written curriculum that emphasizes key skills relating to British requirements. An awareness of international expectations in the area of curriculum development remains an on going priority at HCI in all aspects of the programme.
